Istanbul, 3rd February, 2022:- The Association of Gambian Students in Turkey (AGAST) is gearing up to host its first post-pandemic annual gathering this weekend in Bursa.
The program, first of its kind since the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic, is set to bring together Gambian students across Turkey, high profile dignitaries including Gambian diplomats, heads of several organizations and other relevant stakeholders.
The Bursa gathering, to be held between 5th and 7th February, is also an opportunity for the members of the association to meet, share ideas and experiences and reflect on the activities the student body embarked on during the previous year.
AGAST is committed to portraying itself as an emblem of hope, unity, and brotherhood and bringing about serious commitment and actions towards promoting the general interest and welfare of all Gambian students across Turkey.
This year’s meeting is described by many as special as Bursa is regarded as one of the most important cities in the history of Turkey. This is not only because it is the first capital city of the Ottoman Empire, but also it is home to many important historical elements stuffed with monuments, mosques and other tourist attraction centers dating back to the early years of the Ottoman Empire.
The three-day event will witness speeches by high profile dignitaries, student activities, city tour among host of many programs and activities.
Also, a new executive that will spearhead the affairs of the association for 2022-2023 academic will also elected.
